Under the theme "Shaping the Future of Data Centres," LS ELECTRIC will showcase a full package of data center power solutions in a 72㎡ booth. The display will include UL-certified power distribution boards for data centers, modular power solutions, and direct current (DC) distribution systems, highlighting its world-class technology and supply capabilities to local clients.
Stable power supply is fundamental to data center operations. Accordingly, LS ELECTRIC's power distribution boards for data centers are designed with safety and have undergone rigorous performance verification. The strategic products are optimized for data centers and are the only ones from a domestic heavy electrical company to secure the UL certification required for entry into the U.S. market. These solutions have strengthened reliability through a Primary Injection Test (PI Test) at the Power Testing & Technology Institute, Korea’s first STL KERI member laboratory, verifying product performance as demanded by data centers.
LS ELECTRIC offers high-voltage distribution boards with structures for resilience against seismic waves and protection from arcs, as well as low-voltage distribution boards with internal barriers to prevent fire propagation (Form 4b Type 7).
The modular power solution replaces traditional concrete building electrical rooms with a modular data center platform housed within a container structure, accommodating all equipment necessary for power supply/distribution and control. Built and verified in an optimal environment and facility, the solution offers reliability, flexible responses to customer needs, and rapid delivery.
Following the trend towards high-voltage direct current (HVDC) based data center power infrastructure, LS ELECTRIC will also unveil a next-generation smart DC distribution solution. As NVIDIA leads the transition to HVDC-based infrastructure to support IT racks of 1 MW or more by 2027, LS ELECTRIC provides ideal solutions by reducing power conversion stages and utilizing distributed power through products optimized for DC distribution, including semiconductor transformers (SST), semiconductor circuit breakers (SSCB), and DC-DC converters.
Given ASEAN’s emergence as a global hub for data centers, LS ELECTRIC plans to expand its business in major ASEAN countries. Major global tech companies like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google, and Microsoft (MS) have announced investment plans for data center construction in Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand. AWS intends to invest over $33 billion (approx. 45 trillion won) in ASEAN data centers, Google over $8 billion (approx. 11 trillion won), and MS at least $6.8 billion (approx. 9.29 trillion won).
This year, LS ELECTRIC's order intake related to North American data centers is approaching 400 billion won. The company has secured supply contracts for hyperscale data center power distribution solutions, recognized by multiple big tech firms for its globally competitive products and technology, and is steadily building references.
As AI usage expands globally, power consumption in data centers is expected to increase significantly. The global data center power demand is projected to grow at an annual average of 11% from 2023 to 2028 and could rise by 26-36% annually with the application of AI servers.
