LS ELECTRIC is positioning itself as a first mover in DC solutions—emerging as the next-generation power infrastructure standard for hyperscale data centers—by putting its DC solutions front and center at the world’s largest data center exhibition.
LS ELECTRIC announced that it will participate in ‘Data Center World 2026,’ to be held from the 21st to the 23rd (local time) at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C., USA.
Through this exhibition, LS ELECTRIC will unveil a wide range of data center–tailored power and automation total solution packages under the theme, ‘Innovation at Scale: Scale Beyond Limits, Innovation That Makes the Difference.’
As flagship power solutions, it will showcase ▲ DC solutions for data centers ▲ UL-certified power distribution systems ▲ power distribution units (PDU) ▲ remote power panels (RPP). For automation solutions, it will present high-performance inverters essential for data center HVAC systems, including ▲ the high-efficiency inverter H100 ▲ the compact inverter SP100.
LS ELECTRIC has recently been expanding its data center business centered on North America, including by signing supply contracts for data center power facilities with global big-tech companies. Since the beginning of this year, LS ELECTRIC’s orders from big-tech data centers have already surpassed KRW 500 billion.
According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), global data center electricity consumption in 2024 was about 415 TWh, and is expected to more than double to about 945 TWh by 2030.
LS ELECTRIC has proactively secured UL certification—an essential requirement for entering the North American power distribution market—thereby laying the groundwork for timely entry into the rapidly growing North American data center market. LS ELECTRIC began in earnest to secure UL certifications for switchboards and medium- and low-voltage power equipment starting 12 years ago, and to date has obtained about 300 certifications.
LS ELECTRIC has also been proactively securing technology by focusing its R&D capabilities on DC solutions, which will be central to next-generation data center power infrastructure. As AI data centers are expected to see rack-level power consumption surge to as much as 1 megawatt (MW), DC distribution—improving power efficiency by reducing power conversion processes—is emerging as an alternative.
LS ELECTRIC built a ‘DC Factory’ at its Cheonan site and validated a DC distribution line capable of handling 1 MW-class power supply, thereby establishing a foundation to respond to future global data center customers.
Chairman Koo Ja-kyun of LS ELECTRIC has long emphasized the so-called ‘DC era,’ saying, “Future power competitiveness depends on how efficiently we use electricity,” and stressing that “DC can dramatically improve power loss and will be a game changer that reshapes the power market.”
An LS ELECTRIC official said, “The North American data center market is a key battleground where next-generation power infrastructure is being adopted the fastest,” adding, “Leveraging our participation in this exhibition, we will build a first-mover DC brand image in the North American market through next-generation power systems centered on DC solutions, accelerate big-tech customer acquisition, and step up our global business expansion.”
